I watched Simon Walker’s Skillshare class and became inspired to try my hand at custom lettering.
Lots of clients never think to use custom type in their projects. I feel it’s just one of the many things they can do to attract eyes to their message. Custom type is frequently shared on the internet. Smart companies know that and use it to their advantage.
Custom type can be turned into eye-catching posters, shirts, mugs, or any number of promotional materials. Ask me about it for your next project.

I love buttons.
Constraints (size in this case) makes for good design. I believe that if something is designed to be small it will look amazing when it’s big.
I use these items to promote my service. I use a traditional letter pressed business card, fun one inch round buttons, bright red stickers, and laser etched wooden coins. I’ve replaced the business cards with wood coins in most cases because they’re much less likely to get throw away. They also do a great job of telling potential clients a little more about me once they get back to their office.

I love patches.
They’re an excellent example of tangible design that can last years into the future. They make great promotional items and can be easily attached to any garment or bag with their iron-on adhesive backing. They’re fun to make and force certain design constraints that always produce amazing results.
What could a custom patch do for your brand?

Cris shared his vision with me for his first book. It’s meant as an educational resource to help educate church leaders about communicating with a younger generation.
I made some custom illustrations and used only three colors (including the paper color) to design a stylish book that would make the information come alive for his readers.
His book was so well received at his conference that he was asked to write a follow up book.

Silver ADDY® Award
100 years is a long time. It’s the kind of thing that begs celebration. The marketing arm of the Last Frontier Council wanted me to help them design a mark to celebrate their centennial in Oklahoma.
My solution was to use a huge, bold 100 and use my Osage shield for one of the zeros and place a fleur de lee in the center of the second zero. The flue de carries significance to scouts all across America and worked out nicely to communicate the centennial.
