Every four years the Boy Scouts hold a giant event that brings all the troops in the state together for a night of celebration and inspiration. I was honored to be asked to help by designing the main identity and theme for their event.

I used to be in a band. We never had a dime to promote ourselves well. It was always something that bothered me, so I started looking around for a solution. I decided to start offering huge 20×30 black and white posters at a stupid low price to bands, local comics, and anyone else who wanted a cheap poster. Why so big? Because letter size just wasn’t cuttin’ it. Go big or go home.

The Salvation Army of Oklahoma needed a revamp of one of their tired old brochures they give out to folks at events. It’s purpose was to inform and ask for donations and volunteers. With their help we reworked the copy and made it easy for people to get the facts and take action.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with many wonderful clients, Keith Burkhart is on that growing list. He was revamping a failing men’s weekend retreat and wanted my help. I had the good fortune to brand and develop all the promotional material for his event for six years. The first year his attendance jumped from around 300 to approximately 1500 attendees. And has almost reached 3000 during its subsequent years.

The Last Frontier Council was developing a high end fundraiser and needed a brand mark that exuded the nature of the event. The event centers around honoring individuals that have supported the scouts throughout its 100 year history in Oklahoma. My solution involved using custom printing techniques using the event brand mark designed to promote the event.

The Executive Director of SANE wanted a new logo that would more accurately represent his organization. In studying their current promotional material is was discovered that most of their information quickly ended up in the trash. Their brand refresh not only caught the attention of their intended audience but ended up in a backpack instead of a recycle bin. Their new brochure aimed a middle school and high school students is picture heavy and keeps the copy to an informative minimum.
